Cedar Park Storm Update, October 2026: Heavy Rain and Roof Leaks

Cedar Park was named in Thursday's Flood Advisory when the storm that began October 1, 2026 moved in. It has been a rain event, not a hailstorm, and that means the damage to look for is water: leaks at flashing and valleys, wet attic decking and stains that show up days later. Here is where things stand and what we are doing about it.

How the storm reached Cedar Park

The front stalled over Central Texas and pulled moisture up from the remnants of Hurricane Polo. Instead of one strong cell, it has sent rain through in bands, with breaks just long enough for people to think it is over.

  1. The National Weather Service Flood Watch takes effect for Williamson, Travis and Hays counties, with 2 to 4 inches of rain forecast.

  2. A Flood Advisory covers Cedar Park, Austin, Round Rock, Georgetown and Pflugerville. Some bands drop rain at 1.5 to 3 inches an hour.

  3. Pedernales Electric Cooperative reports scattered outages around Leander and Cedar Park.

  4. The Flood Watch continues through 7 p.m. with 1 to 3 more inches possible, then lighter showers into the weekend.

What we are doing this week

Cedar Park Roofing Pros has worked on Cedar Park roofing since 2017. When rain hits the whole area at once, calls come in together, so we take them in order of risk. We will give you a real arrival window when you call, not a comfortable one.

Water inside the house

Active leaks into living space, closets and anything near light fixtures come first. The first visit stops the water and makes the area safe.

Temporary weatherproofing

Where a permanent repair needs a dry roof, we cover the problem area and photograph what we did so you have a record from day one.

Tracing the leak in daylight

Water runs along the decking before it drops, so the stain is often feet from where it got in. Tracing it properly happens once the roof is dry.

Free inspections next week

As the rain clears, we move to free inspections with a written photo report in 24 hours.

If water is coming in right now, our Emergency roof repair Cedar Park TX page has the five things to do in the next hour.

Rain damage that shows up later

Heavy rain does not usually tear a roof apart. It finds the weak spots that were already there and gets through them. Once the roof dries, these are the problems we expect to see from this storm:

Flashing at walls and chimneys

Sealant that has dried out lets wind-driven rain behind the metal.

Valleys

Leaves and debris slow the water down, and it backs up under the shingles.

Pipe boots

Cracked rubber collars around vent pipes are one of the most common leaks we find.

Low-slope sections

Patio covers and additions that were shingled at too low a pitch leak in every hard rain.

If a low-slope section is the problem, see Cedar Park flat roof repairs. For anything else, Cedar Park roof repair covers how we fix it.

Thinking about a claim

Most rain leaks come from wear rather than a covered storm event, and an inspection tells you which you have before you call your insurer. A free Roof inspection Cedar Park TX visit gives you a written photo report in 24 hours. If you do file, we can meet your adjuster to show what we documented. We do not negotiate claims, which is a licensed public adjuster's role in Texas, and coverage is between you and your carrier.

Our Cedar Park roof damage insurance claim guide explains how the process works, including the percentage deductible on many Texas wind and hail policies.

If someone offers to cover your deductible

In Texas, a contractor cannot pay, waive, rebate or absorb your insurance deductible. The usual method is an inflated invoice, and the claim is in your name. End the conversation.

Questions about this storm

Did this storm bring hail to Cedar Park?

We have not found hail reports for the area so far. This has been a rain and flooding event. If later reports show hail, an inspection should look for it specifically.

The leak stopped when the rain stopped. Is it fixed?

No. The opening is still there and will leak again in the next storm. Have it traced and repaired while the roof is dry.

Will insurance cover a leak from heavy rain?

It depends on the cause. Leaks from worn flashing, pipe boots or an aging roof are usually treated as wear. Damage from a covered event, such as wind tearing off shingles, is different. Your policy and your carrier decide.

How soon can you inspect?

Once the roof is dry and safe, usually a day or two after the last round of rain. Call and we will give you a real date.

Water coming in?

Tell us your address, your roof type and where the water is showing up. We will tell you honestly when we can be there.
